I Always Feel Rich in the Garden

"When life wearies and ceases to satisfy, there is always the garden"

Somehow, this old quote seems very contemporary. We have too much bad news around us these days. I finally decided to put myself on a "news fast" and spend the time in the garden instead.

There is always something new, fresh and promising in the garden. Now, at the end of July, it is hard to keep up with the bounty of peppers still warm from the sun, and Sugar Snack tomatoes that satisfy the sweet tooth like nothing else. The zinnias are exploding in neon colors, and we have a miniature garden zoo of toads, bees, ladybugs and worms.

When I feel worried about the state of the money economy, all it takes is a trip to my garden to remind me of my prosperity.
